This is the first home to have begun the legacy of historical restoration by this author's (Matt Schademann) hands. This 1927 Bungalow would also be my first foray into real-estate transaction, as the Buyer.
505 Thomas Forest Park, Illinois
The first real collaboration between Glenn Garlisch and Matt Schademann, with Matt being the principal photographer and student of historic architecture. By billing this home as "a true American Bungalow worthy of the most loving hands to procure its Restoration" - it was under contract in just a few days at almost 96% of asking.
2112 Clarence - Berwyn, Illinois
The procuring cause was empowered by Matt to secure this incredible surviving gem of North Berwyn for close friend, Maureen. This home would have fallen victim to the hands of Flippers who's ignorance would have seen the severe alteration of original Vitrolite bathroom walls and fixtures, blown out kitchen walls, Breakfast Room and rear Den as well as the removal of an original 360˚ nautical-themed wall mural in basement. Luckily, a deal was brokered to buy out the investors so this lovely Bungalow could fall into loving hands for a total restoration of historic accuracy.
